As a UWG parent, I’ve found the Family Portal far less helpful than described during orientation. Many notifications concern parent responsibilities but lack detail and direct students to handle follow-up. Other Georgia universities offer greater transparency and communication under FERPA—I urge UWG to either expand parent access or clearly set expectations for families.
